4. Who would be your Target Audience for your Media Product?

The target audience for my magazine will be males aged 16-20/21-25 as these were the greatest number of people that will read my magazine as this is information I retrieved from my questionnaire. These are males that are in full-time education either at school or college, even maybe further education at University or a full time job so there type of income that they may receive will vary, depending on what they are doing. My magazines style of genre is House music, therefore the readers must have an interest in this, the type of person they will be would be energetic, outgoing and would love to go clubbing.  There earnings would be spent on attending live performances, gigs and festivals (Creamfields) and also buying music downloads and CD’s. Another way that there money would be spent would be on keeping up with the latest trends purchasing the newest fashions such as clothing and accessories.

7. Looking Back at Your Preliminary Task What Do You Feel You Have Learnt In The Proggression From It To Full Product

What I learnt from the preliminary task to the finished music magazine was editing, I learnt that instead of taking a photo that is ok and editing it to improve it, to take a photo properly the first time with the correct backgrounds so that only minor improvements need to be made as this can be time consuming.
What I did different from my preliminary task to my main project was that the mast head on my school magazine was integrated with the main image and the main image was to small, whereas with the music magazine I layered the photo over the masthead  as it is a main convention to follow.

For the preliminary task I used the background of the image whereas on the music magazine I edited the image to give it a colour fill which gives it a clean and sleek design, I feel this makes it look more professional.

I have improved a lot from using fireworks as when producing my preliminary task I really struggled and had no knowledge on how to use it. Although now after completing the music magazine I am now confident with fireworks and knowing all its functions, editing photos and fonts to my own personal design.
Lastly I have learnt what appeals to the audience to make sure that your magazine is the best it can be to grab the audience’s attention. Including specific conventions to follow, I feel I have created an effective and professional magazine.
